About This Game Metal Drift is a vehicular sport combat game set in a distant future. As the player, you command an agile, high powered hover tank in a futuristic sports arena. Core game play centers on intense tank-on-tank multiplayer team combat seen through an immersive, first person cockpit. Layered on this is a goal-oriented game type that allows for high level strategy and team dynamics. Players can level up to unlock new ranks, weapons, and upgrades.Each weapon and upgrade is specifically designed and balanced to allow different styles of play. Pair up the Stealth upgrade and the Shock Cannon to uncloak behind an enemy player and unload a devastating blow before disappearing again. Some independent software makers created a very nice science fiction tank combat and football (soccer) style combination in a game. The game runs smooth and has some nice combat on a Tron style gaming grids (read maps).. Contrary to what was mentioned in another review and despite the lack of info on the store page, this game has no offline mode. It is an online-only DRM game. There is bot and LAN support, but you must still create an account with Black Jacket (email required) and log into their servers in order to play. If your internet connection is down, or if Black Jacket's servers are down, the game will not run at all. Further, Black Jacket has no publicly-viewable privacy policy that I could find, so be mindful of what they do with your personal data.It's good that there is at least bot support, because you will have a very difficult time finding anyone online to play with outside of special events. Unfortunately, the bot AI is very simplistic and rarely uses any sort of team tactics like passing and coordination, so you won't get much enjoyment at all if you're planning on playing solo.The core gameplay is fun - basically soccer with tanks. If you do have a group of friends to play with, you may get some enjoyment out of it, but I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone else.. I don't know why more peopple don't have this game. It's great for LANs, or when you have a bunch of people.. I kinda wish there were more games like this.. What do you say about a game with no redeeming value whatsoever? "It sucks" feels so empty on its own.Anyway, don't buy this game. Even if you do have it, don't play it. It's just rubbish.. This game is wicked! when you drift backwards around a wall and line up an enemy tank with you're ion cannon! Bam! Good times:) I've been playing it for years and keep coming back. If your a graphic's snob (like my lame friends) then u prolly wont touch it. But if you play games for fun! Metal Drift promises unique, hard hitting, high speed, drift tank action!. Old school :). It may look fun but the multiplayer is only availabe for a few hours per day.This shouldn't even say it has multiplayer if it's only availble for a few hours a day.
